Therapy for Women, Online in Maine and Massachusetts

How does therapy work?

The goal of therapy is to improve your qualify of life. I truly believe that my clients are the experts on what they need to thrive, but sometimes need a boost in the right direction. This is why I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you create movement in your life. Sometimes we might chat over coffee (virtually) because you just need someone to talk to that day. Other times we might work on coping techniques because you’re feeling completely overwhelmed. I invite you to come to each session as you are, and I like to stay flexible because I know your needs are constantly changing.

What is the process like?

During the first few sessions I’ll ask you to share your story with me. What brought you here, your life experiences thus far, and what you’re struggling with. We’ll form goals together that we’ll work on throughout your therapy journey, and we’ll review and adjust these periodically as needed for continued growth. This process will look different depending on the type of support you need, and I encourage you to be open about any part of the process that’s not working so that we can adjust accordingly. You can expect that I’ll show up consistently, with your best interest in mind, and that I’ll hold space for whatever your needs are at the moment.

Is telehealth confidential?

Yes! Therapy is 100% confidential. I am required by law to keep your information confidential. This includes all communication, health records, and even whether or not you’re a client. Plus, there’s no longer the chance of seeing someone you know in the waiting room, having to drive to the therapy office, or even telling your employer you need to leave work for a therapy appointment. You can schedule sessions on your lunch break, eliminate drive time or meet in your pajamas in the comfort of your own home. It really is whatever works for you!

What are your fees?

Your investment depends on the type and duration of the appointment. The total fee is based on the amount of time spent during the session. In general you can expect:

60 minute initial intake session $175

55 minute individual therapy session $150

30-40 min check in session $100-$125

If you miss an appointment or cancel without providing 24 hour notice, you will be expected to pay the $100 cancellation fee since I am reserving this time just for you. This fee is not covered by insurance and is your responsibility, so I encourage you to reach out as soon as you know you’ll need to miss an appointment.

Do you take insurance?

Yes! I encourage you to check with your insurance carrier for specific details of your coverage. I recommend asking the following questions:

  • Whether I am in network with your insurance carrier
  • Whether your benefits cover telehealth sessions
  • Whether you are responsible for any portion of the payment
  • What your copay and deductible amounts are and when they renew

I am in network with the following insurance carriers:

  • United Healthcare
  • Oxford
  • Aetna
  • UMR
  • Oscar Health
  • Harvard Pilgrim
  • Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield Maine
  • Cigna

What if you’re not in network with my insurance?

If I’m not in network with your insurance carrier, you can still inquire about out of network coverage with your insurance plan. This allows me to provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement after each session. Your insurance company can provide you with specific details on how to submit a Superbill and what percentage is covered.
